SIT AICTE IDEA Lab
The AICTE IDEA Lab at Sethu Institute of Technology, Kariapatti, Virudhunagar District, was inaugurated on 16th April 2026 by Dr. T. Pavan Kumar, Principal Scientist, CSIR–IMMT, Bhubaneswar, in the presence of Mr. S. Mohamed Jaleel, Founder and Chairman of Sethu Institute of Technology, along with college administrative officials Mr. S.M. Seeni Mohaideen (Chief Executive Officer), Dr. S.M. Seeni Mohamed Aliar Maraikkayar (Joint Chief Executive Officer), Mrs. S.M. Nilofar Fathima (Director – Administration), and Dr. S.M. Nazia Fathima (Director – R&D), with the participation of special guests Dr. K. J. Sankaran, Principal Scientist, CSIR–IMMT, Bhubaneswar, and Mr. R. Jaisankar, Head – TAFE, Madurai.
The IDEA Lab was established to promote innovation, design thinking, entrepreneurship, and application-based learning by providing students and faculty a dedicated space for designing, prototyping, and developing real-world solutions using advanced facilities such as electronics design, IoT systems, 3D printing, laser cutting, mechanical fabrication, and other modern technologies.
During the event, the speakers emphasized the importance of hands-on learning, industry collaboration, and global exposure in emerging technologies. The Principal, Dr. G. D. Sivakumar, appreciated AICTE’s initiative and highlighted that the lab will significantly enhance students’ creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurial mindset.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and industry representatives, marking a significant milestone in fostering innovation, research, and technological advancement at the institution.
