Curriculum Development Process
The Department develops program curriculum effectively with the contribution of the forums like Program Assessment Committee (PAC), Department Advisory Board (DAB), Curriculum Planning and Evaluation Cell (CPEC), Board of Studies (BoS) and Academic Council. Stakeholders’ feedback, Course Outcome attainment, Program Outcome/Program Specific Outcome attainment, the requirement of Program Specific Criteria, Syllabus of reputed institutions and Technology forecast are discussed extensively to design a draft curriculum and syllabus.
The stakeholders’ input is considered as one of the main factors in the design of curriculum and syllabi. The feedback is obtained from the stakeholders whenever changes are planned in the curriculum and syllabi. The feedback from employers is obtained to assess the suitability of the curriculum and syllabi for the employment opportunities. Alumni members are invited to offer their suggestions on curriculum and syllabi through feedback forms or E-mails
Faculty members provide their feedback on the courses they taught. The students are given feedback form and asked to register their feedback for the inclusion and deletion of topics or courses in the curriculum and syllabi. The guidelines from statutory bodies like AICTE, UGC and Affiliating University are also considered during the discussions. The suggestions and modifications given by the different forums are meticulously carried out and the approved syllabus is implemented in the corresponding batches of UG/PG programs.
