Agricultural Engineering (AE) is the area of engineering concerned with the design, construction and improvement of farming equipment and machinery. Agricultural engineers integrate technology with farming and use the latest technology to advance environmental issues and activities. Students have the opportunity to study machine components and equipment, testing agricultural machinery to ensure safety and performance and providing leadership on water and environmental concerns.
The agricultural engineer helps to make farming sustainable, safe, and environmentally friendly. They analyze agricultural operations and weigh the use of new technologies and methods to increase yields, improve land use, and conserve resources like seed, water, fertilizers and fuel.
An agricultural engineering degree will open doors around the world in large corporations and small businesses, including careers in tractor, irrigation, dairy and food processing industry, structural design, agricultural power and equipment design and more.
