Department Profile




        The Department offers the 4-year B.Tech. Degree course in Agricultural Engineering. The syllabi and course structure are as per the guidelines of Anna University. The Agriculture Engineering department was established in 2016 with an intake of 60 no. of students.      

    Agricultural Engineering (AE) is the area of engineering concerned with the design, construction and improvement of farming equipment and machinery. Agricultural engineers integrate technology with farming and use the latest technology to advance environmental issues and activities. Students have the opportunity to study machine components and equipment, testing agricultural machinery to ensure safety and performance and providing leadership on water and environmental concerns.

    An agriculture engineer helps to make farming sustainable, safe, and environmentally friendly. They analyze agricultural operations and weigh the use of new technologies and methods to increase yields, improve land use, and conserve resources like seed, water, fertilizers and fuel.

    An agricultural engineering degree will open doors around the world in large corporations and small businesses, including careers in tractor, irrigation, dairy and food processing industry, structural design, agricultural power and equipment design and more.
